Q - What can I write about?

A - We encourage you to have your own voice and write about whatever moves you. Some examples:

 

Q - How do I get my submission Featured?

A - We do not release the algorithm details for the Featured Story. However, many things go into the process, such as category, editor score, and inclusion of images and/or video. Editor score is determined based on how well the submission is prepared and the quality of the content, including links. Adding relevant images and video enhanced the ability to become a Featured Story.

Q - How long before my submission is published?

A - Review and publishing usually takes about 24-48 hours. When there are more submissions than normal it could take longer. We ask that you are patient while we give each submission the appropriate attention.

 

Q - My submission was not approved. Can I re-submit it?

A - Yes, you can. However, you will need to make sure it conforms to the requirements of our Posting Policy. Please review your submission before re-submitting it.

 

Q - Is there a minimum or maximum length for my article?

A - We do not set limits on the length of the article, however submissions that exceed 450 words are less likely to be picked up by our media partners for placement within their content pages.

 

Q -Is there a URL for my Author Page that I can share with others?

A - Your Author Page URL is www.youtribune.com/author/username/ (replace “username” with your username.)

 

Q - How do I get my photo or image on my Author Page?

A - youTribune retrieves your stored avatar from Gravatar.com. The email address you used to register should match the email address for your Gravatar.com account. Currently this is the only method we support for adding an avatar to your Author Page.

Q -Do I have to include tags?

A - Yes, tags help index your content so that it can be more easily found by users and our partners.

 

Q - How many categories can I pick?

A - You may choose a maximum of three categories for your submission. You may select a top level category and a subcategory of it if you choose.

 

Q - Do I have to allow comments on my post or article?

A - No, you do not have to allow commenting on your posts or articles. Simply uncheck the box marked “Allow Comments” on the Submit form. However, our popularity algorithm counts page visits and comments, so encouraging conversation on your submission would raise the profile of your submission.

 

Q -How do I get to my Profile page to update my information?

A - When you are logged in, you may click your username in the login box on the right side of the page to get to your profile page.

 

Q - Can I link to my website at the end of each article or post I submit?

A - Yes, you can include a byline about you at the end of your article or post and it may include a link to your website or blog.
