Image Help

We encourage the addition of images to your posts and articles. There are three ways to add images:

  1. Add a thumbnail image for your front page excerpt.
  2. Add a feature image in the event your post becomes a feature story.
  3. Add an image to the body of your post.

All three images can be the same. The recommended sizes for your images are:

If you submit the same URL for the thumbnail and the feature the system will accept it, however it is recommended to resize them appropriately for best display. Thumbnail size images submitted for features are usually very pixelated. Feature images submitted for thumbnails are usually distorted in width.

To obtain an URL for an image you can use a photo-sharing site such as Flickr or Photobucket to upload your photos. Also, with owner permission, you can use the URL of other images on the site. PLEASE READ THE TERMS OF SERVICE OF YOUR PHOTO-SHARING WEBSITE. Each image comes with tools that allow you to view other sizes and display a URL for that size. See those websites “Help” sections for more details.

To add an image to the body of your content move your cursor to the spot you want the image and hit the “Ext. Image” button of the text editor. It will open a box for you to enter the URL.

To add the thumbnail, there is a text field to add the URL. To add the feature image, there is a separate text field to add the URL.

All images are reviewed for quality. Images not in accordance with the Posting Policy are removed.
